Thumbs Up!: Flatlander Market has been open since the Spring of 2005 and is located right in the middle of Downtown Marengo. They specialize in gourmet sandwiches as well as Illinois wine and other Illinois products. They also have a catering business and do semimonthly wine tastings.We have had the chicken pesto, cuban, italian and american subs as well as the various expresso coffees (like Starbucks). Combining the freshest ingredients and accompanied with their fresh made potato chips makes any meal at Flatlander a winner! This eat in restaurant is kid friendly and is located in a historic building. Rocco and Sally have taken great care in restoring the building to its original spendor. Flatlander is a great place to take a relaxed break for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Thumbs Up!: Waters Edge has a great atmosphere and the food is terrific. If you enjoy fish, they have a great Friday fish fry. The burgers are also outstanding.If you're only interested in a cocktail or a beer they have a fully stocked bar as well. Waters Edge is located on Route 23 in Marengo, adjacent to the golf course.It's the perfect location to host a party. They love children and often have fun activities for kids.
